A practical approach to animal care
- When you provide foster care for an animal, we help by handling medical costs and you provide a safe and loving home for the animal while it awaits a forever home.
- Fostering is a good option for those who want to experience the joys of having a companion pet in the home but are not ready or able to adopt. Some popular groups include senior citizens, individuals who work from home and people who want to work directly with animals but do not have the time or desire to volunteer at the shelter. It's also great for the animal. Fostering allows the potential adopter to observe a pet in a more natural state without the stress shelters bring.
How it works
The fostering application language and approval process is very similar to the regular adoption application, with the exception of:
- You bring the love. Grateful Rescue covers all other costs involved with fostering.
- Enjoy “first option” to adopt, receive training at no cost, and take advantage of optional pet care courses such as: bottle feeding, pet CPR, and others at no charge.
Next Steps
Please complete a foster application and submit it to us as soon as you think you are interested in doing this. We will review and call to discuss opportunities.
